Psychiatry: An Industry of Death

Before we get to our movie, I’d like to share how I came to discover the Museum of Psychiatry at 6616 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, California 90028. In 2014, I was traveling across the country and the world without a dime. Somehow during this journey I made my way to LA, then to Hollywood, and I walked on the stars with actors names engraved. The glamor of television was not present there. Only hookers, criminals, and cops (criminals in clown costumes) were present there. I decided to leave before a crackhead stabbed me for my shoes.

One street over, I came across the building in the image above. I was curious, seeing the sign for a Psychiatry Museum. I entered an met the woman who seems to be everpresent there. Then the tour began. We entered a small theater and watched an hour long documentary. Then we entered the museum proper. Going back centuries into the dissection of murdered people by doctors, to American Eugenics influencing the Nazis, to modern day psychiatric warfare on the population. It even gave evidence Rockefeller money validating psychiatry in the late 1920s. It was gruesome and it was wonderful. The truth was everywhere, in the very heart of the beast. In Hollywood!

Well, some years went by before I realized that that organization, the CCHR and the Museum, was run by Scientologists. From my own research, I conclude the museum was in no way falsifying data. While some may dislike the tone, format, or feeling of the videos they created on this topic, it is undeniable that they are sharing information that has real potential to educate the mass population if it were to get the reach. I will not say I agree with everything. I will say I agree with the baseline and appreciate the facts.
