Movies I have Loved Anon

This is a new LUNP series where we review and suggest movies and perhaps bash some here and there that Disney or whoever decides to puke on the world.

Anon is the culmination of the amalgam of various dystopic futures. The obvious result of a Neurolink or otherwise brain implant that connects humanity to a computer grid, with the grid itself a result of the 5G→ 6G and onward Smart Cities. Social credit scores and docile obiescance. The government is the psychopathic Orwellian wetdream, where everything anyone does is accessible to the authorities simply by accessing what they are seeing or have seen through their eyes.

That is, until an anonymous woman comes under investigation. She exists off-the grid, an unknown. When she continues to evade the authorities, they become evermore interested and aggravated by her.

And the truth comes out:

Commissioner:
“This level of anonymizing makes all crime possible. It hinders our expansion to sub-crime. The integrity of the system is compromised. We rely on transparency. We can't control what we can't see. We require persistent identity.”
“This isn't an isolated case. We believe there's a ring of individuals who may or may not know each other. They, like her, anonymize themselves and others. I don't care the victims no longer exist. I care that she doesn't. In my mind, she's murdered herself.”
Sal:
“Oh, I see. Taking a life, that's not important. Her not having one, that is?”
Commissioner:
“Yes. Now you understand.”

When Sal gets too close, Anon discovers he is a cop, and does not take it very kindly. She hacks his connection to the cloud and forces him to see what she wants him to see, wipes his saved files, and generally ducks with his sanity.

I won't give away anymore of the storyline because it's a film worth seeing, and the end is a good one.

This film is not far from being realized. As I mentioned, the technocratic/plutocratic/tyranny of tomorrow that is dreamed of today at the WEF and Bilderberg and every government is obviously and apparently very similar to this film.

And the greatest lines in the movie:

Anon:
“You invade my privacy, it's nothing. I try to get it back,
it's a crime.”
Sal:
“Don't you get it? The more you try to hide, the more attention you attract. Why is it so important that nobody knows you. You get rid of other people's secrets. What's yours?”
Anon:
“Does there have to be one?”
Sal:
“Everyone has something to hide.”
Anon:
“That's what you do. What you look for every day of your life. Why you'll never understand. It's not that I have something to hide...
I have nothing I want you to see.”

The argument here is between a cop who thinks it's his right and authority to investigate everyone on baseless suspicion and that privacy is reserved only when someone is guilty of something, and a free woman who doesn't need a reason to hold her privacy dear and sacred and is willing to act on her principles and rights.

Police and governments today are literally doing this in real life. They refuse to accept the privacy of the people and operate in the realms of precrime, thoughtcrime, and absolute surveillance.

Ask a cop for an affidavit from an injured party during an unlawful traffic stop and you either get the fluoride stare or the enraged thug. Confront any government agent about 5G implementation, police abuse, beaurocratic manipulation, etc. and all you get is the boot.

Phones are tapped at will by the 3-letter agencies (FBI, CIA, NSA, DHS…) and cameras on stoplights send auto-generated tickets and court sommons. Every street corner has a camera and every smart device records every bit of data on its owner and their neighbors that one can possibly imagine.

Stay private folks. Fuck the government.
