Well folks, I am back. My hiatus was due to a trip into the woods of New Hampshire for the Annual Rainbow Family Gathering. Our posts have slowed down a bit, but stay tuned because we have some great Talks coming your way and more articles bringing solutions and Freedom into the spotlight.

For now, I’d like to share with you about the Rainbow Family and what it’s like to gather, and why we do so.

Quite often, when I mention the Rainbow Gathering to folks, they imagine I am speaking of some sort of gay pride event. In actuality, the Rainbow Family of Living Light is the largest and longest running global anarchist society.

Depending on who you ask, the history of the family and gatherings, and the reason for its existence, will be different. Some refer to prophecies, while others refer to activism, and others still will speak of bikers and beatnik society.

I am going to weave this story of the Rainbow Family based on the anecdots of varying “earlies”, that is, original gatherers, and try to give a inciteful yet consice description of how, why, when, who, and where regarding the origins and evolution of the Rainbow Family and finally its current status, condition and potential.

I contend that the Rainbow Family can save the world.

The History

The Roma were/are a generally nomadic people who traveled in caravans across Europe, again generally. In the mid-20th century, a diverse set of movements and social organizations developed which seemed to refer to the ways of the Roma, whether or not intentionally.

The Romany people traveled in caravans and performed and entertained, conducted circuses, were tinkerers and salesmen of various goods brought from one place to another, as well as experts in various fields, especially animal husbandry. They more rarely did permanently domicile in one place or another, but this was insignificant until very recent history. Much of the movements and organizations I reference here reflected this nomadicism and culture.

I don’t wish to limit our origin story to this group though, so i’ll explain a couple more points of reference.

The musical revolution of the 20th century was anomalous to previous millenia, and the advent of the Blues from folk music seems to have led the way. The musical renaissance was very significant in the UK and USA, and was a key instrumentality in the social redesign of the world, largely. Folk music became blues, folk country, jazz, rock and roll, pop, and etc.

With Jazz culture also came the beatniks in the ‘40s and ‘50s. The term beatnik was used pejoratively at first to describe those who identified as the Beat Generation, such as Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, William S. Burroughs, and Neal Cassady. Anti-consumerism, spiritual exploration, artistic freedom, and travel were central to beatnik culture. You might see the parallel to the Roma in this. This psychedelic community branched into many other highly influential social movements, such as the civil rights movement and the Love Revolution, and influenced Ken Kesey and Timothy Leary on their many psychedelic adventures, and Alan Watts on his.

The introduction of motorcycle clubs as a way to find companionship, camaraderie and freedom intermingled in the scene, especially coming into the post-Korean and Vietnam War era. Veterans seeking the brotherhood built in the military, freedom from tyrannical institutions and parallel societies of their own design. These clubs gained deeper traction as Civil rights and the Love Revolution only grew.

Concurrently, during this social revolution happening from various angles, Native Americans and many other surviving indigenous nations across the world came forward with prophecies regarding the birthing of a tribe called the Rainbow people.

One of those prophecies is called the Prophecy of the Whirling Rainbow…

There will come a day when people of all races, colors, and creeds will put aside their differences. They will come together in love, joining hands in unification, to heal the Earth and all Her children. They will move over the Earth like a great Whirling Rainbow, bringing peace, understanding and healing everywhere they go.

Many creatures thought to be extinct or mythical will resurface at this time; the great trees that perished will return almost overnight. All living things will flourish, drawing sustenance from the breast of our Mother, the Earth.

“The great spiritual Teachers who walked the Earth and taught the basics of the truths of the Whirling Rainbow Prophecy will return and walk among us once more, sharing their power and understanding with all. We will learn how to see and hear in a sacred manner. Men and women will be equals in the way Creator intended them to be; all children will be safe anywhere they want to go. Elders will be respected and valued for their contributions to life. Their wisdom will be sought out. The whole Human race will be called The People and there will be no more war, sickness or hunger forever”.

It was also during this time that the youth began to look to alternatives to the given narrative and seek answers that would make sense to their ever deepening yearning for peace, liberty, and truth. They sought out and were answered by the yet living indigenous nations.

In the 1950's and 1960's, many beatniks and Love revolutionary and psychadelic types began forming communes and ecovillages. They initiated the practice of growing cannabis in Northern California and Oregon.

From this social organizing came Rainbow Families, all part of an ideological unity. Peace, Love, and Freedom.

In 1969, the amalgamation of these things came to Woodstock, NY. There, many people had their eyes opened to a greater potential, and many claim experiences both angelic and enlightening. Following the spiritual explosion of Woodstock, some people came together to form Greenpeace. Others unified to form the Twelve Tribes of Israel. And many people came together to create a gathering for the Rainbow Families.

In 1970, there was the Vortex Gathering in Oregon. This was the precursor to the Rainbow Gatherings, which found origination in 1972, at Strawberry Lake in Colorado.

The Invitation that was sent out to all people was…

We, who are brothers & sisters, children of God, families of life on earth, friends of nature & of all people, children of humankind calling ourselves Rainbow Family Tribe, humbly invite:

All races, peoples, tribes, communes, men, women, children, individuals -- out of love.

All nations & national leaders -- out of respect

All religions & religious leaders -- out of faith

All politicians -- out of charity

to join with us in gathering together for the purpose of expressing our sincere desire that there shall be peace on earth, harmony among all people. This gathering to take place beginning July 1, 1972, near Aspen, Colorado - or between Aspen & the Hopi & Navaho lands - on 3000 acres of land that we hope to purchase or acquire for this gathering -- & to hold open worship, prayer, chanting or whatever is the want or desire of the people, for three days, but upon the fourth day of July at noon to ask that there be a meditative, contemplative silence wherein we, the invited people of the world may consider & give honour & respect to anyone or anything that has aided in the positive evolution of humankind & nature upon this, our most beloved & beautiful world -- asking blessing upon we people of this world & hope that we people can effectively proceed to evolve, expand, & live in harmony & peace. - Amen -

Thousands came. Thousands kept silence. Thousands celebrated life. Thousands began a journey through time and space that continues today to shape a more loving and genuine world.

Since 1972, the Gathering has had its ups and downs, but most dominant in the reasons for the downs is the brutal and unyielding enforcement, by violence, of rules in violation of our Constitutional and Human Rights by the United States Government and the individual states. Our reputation has been smeared with the vigorousness of a Mortal enemy.

The government is truly the only enemy of the Rainbow Family. Without government, the Whirling Rainbow would have already encircled the earth and rained upon the three sisters and brought understanding to the hearts of all the people. But that is the karma, that we must prove wise enough to see past the illusion of authority and dominance, through the hypocrites and and ironies that consume the minds of the masses by devious methods.

Maya, the illusion, is all of the world and universe where we live. Spiritual enlightenment is the breaching of the illusion. We simply need to break the illusions of this lower plane to remove the ignorance, confusion, fear, and doubt that plague the earth’s children. Truthspeakers and truthkeepers must stay vigilant. Lovers and explorers must stay vigilant.

Since 1972, the Rainbow Gatherings have been held in “National Forests”, which are really the Commons, land held in common by the people. The Family is not an organization with leaders, but rather an idea that many adhere to without the need for demand or bandage or tribute of any kind. The Rainbow Family of Living Light is an Anarchist Society. That is, there is no ruler or rulers, there are only self-determined people, who choose to arrive to honor, pray, and celebrate life together by coming to the commons and exercising not only our constituional right to peaceable assembly but our natural and inherant right to be left the fuck alone by the foreign government that is the United States or the state governments or any of their agents and thugs.

The USFS (United States Forest Service) demands that the Rainbow Family sign and file a Special Use Permit to use the National Forest for our Gatherings over 75 people. The problem and solution to this is one and the same. We cannot sign a Special Use Permit as the family has no representatives. We have no government that could sign on each individuals behalf. Everyone that arrives is an individual. Nobody has given POA (power of attorney) to anyone else. Even if some individual did sign and file a SUP, it would be null and void on its face because they would not have the authority to speak and contract for the rest. There is literally no way we could accomodate for the rule.

But they demand we do so anyway. And they use our refusal and inability as pretense to aggressively trample upon our rights and lives with impunity. Local police, forest service, state troopers, homeland security, border patrol, FBI, CIA, Sheriffs and Marshals, prosecutors, defense attorneys, clerks of courts, court administrators like magistrates, judges, Attorney Generals, county commissioners, mayors, governors, legislatures, presidents, and corporations all conspire to destroy the reputation of the Rainbow Family and to collapse it from within. And extort it from without. From media manipulation, to sabotage, to illegitimate ticketing, jailing, harassment and fearmongering, to potentially assassination.

The Rainbow Family is considered a terrorist organization, not because we terrorize or conduct criminal activity, but because we exist seperate from the control dynamics of government, because we show a more free and loving way of living, and because the tyrants are terrified of us. We pose the greatest ideological threat to government in the whole world. We do not fight revolutions with arms, but build a spiritual renaissance with Love, Peace, Freedom, and Consent.

At the Rainbow, there is no patriarchy or matriarchy. There is no ruling class or working class. There is no institutionalized hierarchy based on theft or violence. There is no exchange of federal reserve toilet Paper.

The Rainbow is a 100% gift economy, though barter is an acceptable method of gifting between parties.

Rainbow is a 100% consensus based non-organization. We sit in counsels open to all people (as long as they are not wearing a badge) to determine where, when, and how we will gather, what to do about concerns of all types affecting the family, and most importantly to constantly reaffirm what we are in general. Free, peaceful, loving.

We have medical teams, educators in safely living in the wilderness, Spiritual guides, lots and lots of music, kitchens serving food as a gift to all who come, and camps of all types. We have Hare Krishnas, Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Atheists, and Pagans. We have philosophers and meditators, lovers and warriors, brothers and sisters. We have all the colors of the Rainbow.

We are the Rainbow Tribe, recognized as a tribe and nation by several living indigenous nations, even if we don’t recognize ourselves as a “nation”. We are free people living on the land, associating with others, and focusing our minds on unity and nature.

I will not describe our consensus model here. If you want that, come to a gathering and sit in counsel with us. You are invited to join us at any gathering of the tribes, on the land held in common, in Peace, Love and liberty.

The Annual Rainbow Gathering starts every year on the 1st of July and goes to the 7th. This is when the large numbers come out to the woods, but for weeks before and after those days, there are people building in the woods and cleaning up after those who’ve left messes behind.

On the 4th of July, starting at first light, the entire woods goes into silence. As the morning progresses, more and more people are seen migrating quietly to the center of our gathering, the main meadow to sit around the peace pole. More and more come to sit in silence, meditation and prayer, until thousands have arrived. Around high noon, without a word spoken, people begin to form a circle, or sometimes concentric circles, holding hands, and extending around the meadow. Soon after this, our children are seen coming into the meadow, breaking the circle, beating drums and playing other instruments, singing “all we are saying, is give peace a chance”. The children’s parade circles around the center, around the peace pole, then all of the people gathering begin to “AUM” together.

AUM is the original sound, that of creation. It is around this sound that all the thousands of gatherers lend their voices, sending their thoughts and emotions into the world, finding harmony in peace, love, and light.

The harmony we find is literally the harmonics of our voices coming into one, as each sends their prayer forth for the healing of the world, and a renaissance of humanity.

When the AUM has fruited harmony and the prayer has been sent into the world, someone or many people break the silence with cries of jubilation, which are taken up by the rest of the thousands of people. And instantly we are transported into a massive celebration with beating drums, sounding horns, ringing bells, ecstatic vocalizations, dancing, and every other form of joyful expression.

…And the government calls us terrorists.

Today the Rainbow faces many difficulties. I will discuss this now.

The Rainbow Family, as I’ve said, is an Anarchist Society. Lately, politicization and social manipulation has encroached upon the minds of the free people. Statism has invaded our Gatherings to some degree. There is a wokeism and modern leftism pervading the Gatherings.

The Gatherings are shrinking. Attendance is dropping as fear and apathy are growing in our society. Aggression is taking the place of compassion. And free people are starting to look more and more like willingly ignorant slaves. But as I've said over the past several years, we contract so that we may expand. We are amidst a purification ritual, as we enter into our second 50 year timeline of gathering. Our second cycle will be rough for the first decade or so, but as we purify and remove the toxicity, so will our strength and unity increase. We will become stronger for our tribulations. Those who hold the line and refuse to break under the weight, remaining in service to the prophetic wisdom of our ancestors, honorable to each other, and fortitudinous for our progeny will prosper.

The Whirling Rainbow, like all prophesy is made true by those who live it.

We have seen in recent recent years attempts to use self-granted authority to mandate policy to the family. This sort of behavior is bound to increase without a defiant posture from the free people. Saying “I will not comply” is all that it takes.

There is a fear of firearms, a large amount of covidiocy fearmongering, and a growing amount of accepting not just all people, as we ought, but all behaviors, which is ruinous. Soon the pedophile sympathizing will be making its way into Rainbow if we do not nip this before it gets out of hand.

This year I spent 6 days discussing whether or not it was okay for tyrants to demand free people do what they want and whether it was okay to bring dangerous substances to our gathering where our children and families play freely. I was flabbergasted when a brother argued that people should be allowed to bring meth, heroine, and fentanyl into our intimate Gatherings. We don’t even support alcohol in our Gatherings. Now people want to make our gathering into New Tenderloin. If you don’t know what that means, the Tenderloin in San Francisco is a dystopic environment filled with overdosing addicts, theft, murder, rape and all the other nasty things we generally want to avoid.

Somehow, I just don’t see the benefit of allowing people to bring fentanyl near my children. That doesn’t mean we can tell them not to, as we have no government. But as individuals we can create a QRF (Quick Reaction Force) that will deal with these death dealers when we discover them. We don’t need the police. We need to police ourselves, handle our affairs as a tribe, and remember that we are all voluntarily acting and only ever as individuals. I certainly will never allow my child to be near idiots injecting themselves with death. I refuse. My line here is dug so deep it has become a gorge.

No alcohol in the gathering. No meth. No cocaine. No heroine. No fentanyl. No research chemicals. No rapists. No pedophiles. No more.

Would you allow pedophile sympathizers to be around your children? Of course not. Because you are a sane person. But those who would allow fentanyl into their camp would allow many things.

Our mission, purpose, rituals and ceremonies, traditions and ideologies are being subverted. In many ways this is happening seemingly from within. But really we know that these things are directed attacks upon the free people by those who have sold their souls to devil, the CIA, FBI, ATF, etc. etc. By utilizing Tavistock social programming, the people can be manipulated into thinking up is down and that global warming exists, that government is beneficent and logical deduction is fraud and anti-social. They can be convinced that acceptance of all behaviors is beneficial for society, while the opposite is being proven right in front of them. History can be rewritten in their minds to fit new narratives. Independent research can be made to seem inferior to the conglomerated news. Censorship made to appear like freedom and safety and health. Orwellian nightmares, made to appear like a return to Eden.

Today, violence by the woke leftists is justified by disagreement with their perspective only. If you do not believe unborn children should be murdered, sucked out of the womb by a tube that tears their bodies apart, then you hate women. You are a tyrant, a patriarchy supporter, an oppressor of women’s rights. In the eyes of this diseased culture, you are telling women what to do with their bodies, and that is unforgivable.

…but, if you refuse to get vaccinated, wear a mask, wear gloves, lock yourself in your home, not work, not travel, and not shout at others for the same so that everyone can be slaves together, then you are also a tyrant, oppressor, apathetic murderer, patriarchy supporting villain. When it is your body, it is their choice. When it is their body, it is their choice.

Who is the real tyrant? Look around you. Is someone demanding you do what they want you to do? If you don’t do it, are they willing to use violence or coercion or get others to use violence or coercion to force your compliance? If so, you have found a tyrant. Never comply with tyrants. Ignore them. Find other free people and build together. People aren’t the problem, behaviors are the problem. Try to educate those who do not currently understand, but don’t waste your time or energy either. Build with those who are ready, and be an example for those who are not. They will see their folly and come later.

Remember, Rainbow is An-archy, no rulers, only voluntary association. What are we building together?

99% of the Gathering spaces are safe, happy, collaborative, mindful, and enjoyable. It’s the 1% causing strife that ripples out. Every tribe has warriors that protect and defend the tribe. I suggest we strengthen ours, let go of ridiculous fears, set a standard for what behavior is out of line, and invite more free people who want to actively engage in our anarchist society.

For those who don’t know, I am the founder of a social club called the Warriors of the Rainbow Lodge. It is a blend of Rainbow values and prophecies and systems and those of the greater liberty community. In closing

From our origins as small clans of nomadic hunter gatherers that traversed lands hunting and foraging, without claims of superiority based on racial, sexual, or otherwise idiotic notions, to our development of anomalies like the Romany, who remembered and lived their heritage as their ancient ancestors did, after millenia of civilization, to the modern social revolution that came from a deep yearning to know more than the bird cage lives of the city prison system, humanity has seen and knows what it means to live in harmony with the earth, all of us know that it is out of harmony, and many of us are working to bring it back into harmony.

The Warriors of the Rainbow are those living the Prophecy of the Whirling Rainbow. The Rainbow Family is everyone with a belly button. All of humanity is part of the Rainbow Family. Not everyone that goes to a Rainbow Gathering is a Warrior of the Rainbow. In fact, there are more Warriors of the Rainbow not at the Gatherings. They are out working to create the second realm, the parallel society, bringing in the Age of Aquarius, fighting tyranny, building freedom, staying vigilant always. Some of us come to the Gatherings. I am one.

We will continue forth, finding novel ways to defend freedom, humanity, life, goodness and truth, no matter the cost, because we are the Warriors of the Rainbow.
